A wonderful black tea, named after the Assam region in India where it is grown at lowlands. Assam delivers a full body, with a trademark maltiness and a strong, bright colour.
This famous black tea is a blend of Indian, Sri Lankan and Kenyan leaves typically drunk with milk and/or sugar. It is full-bodied, offering a delightfully robust flavour.
Not quite as bitey as its English relative, but arguably offers more depth and body. In Ireland, it is typically drunk with milk, but also goes down nicely black with a hint of lemon.
